
The newly designed Bachelor's degree programme in Public Administration was launched in winter semester 2008/2009. This degree programme, which focuses primarily on legal science, relates directly to the long-standing experience gained during the Diploma degree programme of the same title. Other key aspects of training include the subject groups of Economics as well as Politics and Social Sciences.
Foundation Phase
The legal, economic and social science basics of public administration are imparted in the first three semesters, with the application of case-related laws and other regulations being of major importance. Both civil law and commercial/company law are dealt with in addition to constitutional, administrative and municipal law issues. The foundation phase is also characterised by the imparting of foreign-language, economic and multi-media skills.
Major Phase
A six-month work placement is completed in Municipal and Provincial Administration institutions in the fourth semester.
During the fifth and sixth semesters, two of the compulsory elective modules on
* Regulatory Law
*Culture and Media Law
*Municipal Law
*Construction and Environmental Administration
serve to deepen knowledge and professionalization on the basis of cross-semester projects.
The seventh semester begins with a Bachelor’s work placement of over 13 weeks and is completed by the Bachelor's thesis based on the work placement.
